DJ Paskal Tzellos

Biografie

Hi, I am Paskal Tzellos, a 25-year old DJ and producer of electronic dance music, namely House, Trance and Techno. I grew up near Frankfurt (Germany), my mother being German and my father Greek. From a young age I got involved with music. My musical roots lie in the classical and byzantinic music, playing the piano and singing in a choir.

At the age of 17 I spent a year in London, and soon experienced new types of music. I took up DJing in 2002 in London, playing at various smaller clubs and at a weekly night called Crush at my university, the London School of Economics. I also hosted a weekly radio show on Pulse Radio (London) in 2002/2003, playing Funky House and Trance.

I now live in Germany and I am about to complete my law degree at Bayreuth University, but at the same time continue DJing quite successfully. I have played in various clubs and events all over the country, including Berlin, Munich and Nuremberg, and I do occasional radio shows for the DJ team „Berlin Beats“.

My style ranges from House and Progressive House to Progressive Trance and even Techno, depending on the crowd of the night. My sound is distinctive, because it is groovy and catchy, but at the same time melancholic and very melodic. During my sets I cover a whole range of styles and create a lot of tension by using long build-ups and combining various techniques such as looping and effects.

I pay great attention not only to a good production, but also to the music and spirit behind the track. I rarely play tracks from well-known labels, but often chose my music from smaller labels from all over the world, including Canada and Japan. To me it doesn’t matter if a track is old or new – the important thing is that the music has a story to tell. I want to surprise and capture, and take the listener to another level.
